Within the regional activities of FES in Eastern Africa the Tanzania Office plays a central role in the support of democratic processes in the region. FES intends to support the development of good governance through civil society actors in the EAC integration process. Furthermore, young leaders from civil society, political party activists and trade unionist will be provided with opportunities for exchange of experience and for the development of common ideas and action plans for the improvement of good governance. FES Tanzania is also the coordinating office for all FES trade union activities in the East African region. This includes the co-operation with the East African Trade Union Confederation which focuses on the developments within East African Community as well as the exchange with the organisations of the international trade movement and their African regional branches.
