About FES Tanzania Office

Despite Tanzania's recent economic success and a democratic environment, many challenges remain. Among these are the unequal distribution of income and opportunities and a great power divide between elites and the majority of the population. Consequently, there is a necessity to promote not only economic but also social and democratic development as well as regional and international co-operation.

At FES Tanzania we work together with our partners – governmental, civil society and international institutions – to support the ongoing democratization process and achieve an inclusive development in all spheres of the society.

FES Tanzania Office currently works on the following programs:

  • Democratic Institutions and Citizen Participation
  • Young Leaders Forum
  • Extractive Resources and Society
  • Media and Freedom of Expression
  • Trade Unions
